A devastating 7,5 magnitude earthquake struck the island of Sulawesi, In Indonesia, on September 28th, 2018, triggering a deadly tsunami with current death toll of over 2,050 people, search and rescue efforts continue. At least 650.000 people have been directly affected across the city of Palu, The Donggala Regency. Thousands of people still missing, and more than 79.000 people are now facing sickness, lack of food and water in temporary shelter (IDPs). Injured are hundreds.
Partnerships with various donors such as Tearfund New Zealand, Samaritan’s Purse and individuals, Yayasan Menara Agung have formed a team consist of medical doctor, nurses and team leader to give an emergency respond by providing Health Service and hygiene kids. The priority needs of the people affected by the earthquake and tsunami today are medical care, food, clean water, shelter and post trauma children who are directly affected by the disaster. Yayasan Menara Agung will collaborates with the government, local and international people who will help and support by medical care in Palu.
